Abstract: VI Abstract This study assessed the readability and content adequacy of eight approved integrated science textbooks in Ebonyi State junior secondary schools .. Five research questions and two hypotheses guided the study. The sample comprised approved eight (8) textbooks, 21 secondary schools, and sixty three integrated' science teachers in Ebonyi State. Two instruments were used; they are Integrated Science Textbook' Readability Test (ITRT) and Quantitative Approach to th~ Content Evaluation of Science textbooks (QACEST). The QACEST formula was used to answer research questions 1-4, research question 5 was answered using mean and standard deviation, while, the two null hypotheses were tested, using chi-square test of "goodness-of-fit". The findings revealed that the approved integrated science textbooks in Ebonyi State junior secondary schools have adequate contents and learning activities but the chapter summary of, all the texts were not appropriate. Also the readability and study questions for examination focus integrated science were not appropriate. There are no study questions .for Longma'n integrated science JSI, JSII and JSIII. Based on these findings, conclusions were drawn and recommendations made. '
